Frank Ciangi
I became a financial therapist because I’ve seen firsthand how deeply money impacts every area of our lives and how few places exist to talk about it without fear or shame. My work is rooted in empathy, structure, and real-life experience. Whether you’re trying to manage caregiving costs, plan for retirement, or untangle years of money stress, my job is to walk alongside you, not ahead of you, with clear, nonjudgmental support.

My Background
Before becoming a Certified Financial Therapist™, I spent over two decades in banking, where I helped people manage their money on paper but not always in practice. I saw the gaps between financial advice and real-life emotions, and I wanted to close them.
That led me to this work. I trained in financial therapy to combine my practical knowledge with the emotional and behavioral tools many people need to move forward. I understand the financial systems, but more importantly, I understand people. My work is grounded in trust, not jargon.
What Working with Me Looks Like
Starting financial therapy shouldn’t feel overwhelming. My approach is steady, supportive, and grounded in what matters most: your story, not just your spreadsheet.
Here’s how we’ll work together:
-
We begin with you. No budgets or prep required. We start with your concerns, habits, and history, uncovering what drives your financial choices.
-
We blend emotion with action. Some sessions focus on untangling stress. Others on strategy. Most include both, so you leave with insight and next steps.
-
Progress over perfection. Whether you’re making a big decision or just trying to reduce money anxiety, we move at your pace, one step at a time.
-
You’ll know what’s next. You’ll receive helpful notes and light accountability between sessions, so your progress feels clear and supported.
I specialize in offering support to overtaxed caregivers who may be simultaneously providing care for their aging parents while supporting their own children. Additionally, I focus on providing personalized financial therapy for busy professionals who often face unique challenges in managing their finances and navigating professional and personal responsibilities.
My approach involves a combination of therapeutic techniques and financial guidance, tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. I create a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their financial concerns and develop effective strategies for managing their money. My goal is to empower clients to make informed financial decisions and cultivate a healthy relationship with money.
By working with me, you will gain valuable insights into your financial behaviors and beliefs, enabling you to make positive changes that lead to long-term financial well-being. You will develop a clearer understanding of your financial goals and the steps needed to achieve them. Ultimately, you will experience reduced financial stress and increased confidence in managing your money, leading to a more secure and fulfilling financial future.
